Batman and Robin #21
Part two of "Dark Knight vs. White Knight" arrives with a cover that makes the stakes immediately clear: a blazing column of white energy erupts between a darkly-cowled Batman and a wild-eyed, writhing figure in a Robin costume, their bodies locked in what looks like a clash of supernatural force. Patrick Gleason's pencils and Mick Gray's inks give the scene a raw, visceral energy — tendrils of shadow and light pulling in every direction as the two figures strain against each other. Peter J. Tomasi's "Tree of Blood" arc is in full swing with this 2011 DC release, and the cover alone suggests the Batman Incorporated era is anything but safe territory.
