In "La confesión del Comodín," the Joker takes the stand in a courtroom drama that upends everything, claiming he killed Batman—only for Two-Face to demand photographic proof, triggering a dramatic recess. When Two-Face exits the courtroom, he sheds his disguise to reveal Batman beneath, turning the trial into a carefully orchestrated trap. Written by David V. Reed and illustrated by John Calnan with inks by Tex Blaisdell and colors by Jerry Serpe, this 1979 issue features a cover by Jim Aparo, who both pencils and inks the striking image.

El Comodín testifica sobre las circunstancias en las que mató a Batman, pero cuando Dos Caras exige que el Comodín presente la evidencia fotográfica que dice tener, se llama a un receso. Después de que Dos Caras abandona la corte, se quita el disfraz y revela a Batman debajo. Habiendo identificado al verdadero asesino, Batman se enfrenta al Comodín y lo envía de regreso a Arkham. Más tarde, Batman le comenta al Inspector Fierro cómo fue que Jerry Randall, disfrazado de Batman, fue a quien realmente el Comodín había matado y cómo el juicio fue un ardid para descubrir al responsable.
