Batman '66 #7 delivers the comic-book debut of the TV series' version of False Face — a master-of-disguise villain who had appeared in only one original Batman comic story (Batman #113, 1958) before Malachi Throne brought him to vivid, unsettling life on screen in 1966. By centering an entire issue on his return, Jeff Parker's series gave the character a second act in the medium that first spawned him, embedding him firmly in the Dozierverse canon. The issue also marks the first appearance of the Batman '66 incarnation of the Batplane, a vehicle that would recur throughout the rest of the series and its spin-off crossovers. Batman '66 launched in July 2013 under writer Jeff Parker, with cover art by Mike Allred, as part of DC's then-new digital-first publishing strategy; print editions compiled multiple digital chapters into single monthly issues. Issue #7 (on sale January 22, 2014) collects a two-part False Face story scripted by Parker and illustrated by Christopher Jones — a veteran of DC animated tie-in comics — alongside a second backup story written by Tom Peyer and drawn by Derec Donovan. Parker confirmed in interviews that the False Face story treats the character as a known quantity in the '66 world, following the show's own convention of never explaining villain origins. The issue's cover, like all issues in the run, was painted by Mike Allred, with coloring by Laura Allred.
