George Pratt's cover for Batman #431 (March 1989) is a genuinely striking image: the Dark Knight hangs upside down from gnarled, twisting branches, his cape draping downward like a shadow, while a pale full moon glows behind him and a swarm of bats wheels through the dim sky. The composition leans into Batman's nocturnal, almost predatory stillness — less superhero, more creature of the night. Inside, the team of Owsley, Aparo, and DeCarlo bring "The Wall" to life, making this a fine entry in the series' late-'80s run.
