Part two of the "Ten Nights of the Beast" arc finds Batman in full combat mode, diving and dodging through a hail of laser or gunfire as debris explodes around him — Mike Zeck's cover captures the Dark Knight in a tense, kinetic moment that feels genuinely dangerous. The crumbling stonework and streaking red impact lines give the scene a breathless urgency that pulls you straight in. With Jim Starlin writing and Jim Aparo on interior art, this 1988 DC series was clearly firing on all cylinders.
