“Crime on the Wing!”

In "Crime on the Wing!", young Dorry Leaf, haunted by the loss of his parents in a Pacific island earthquake, dedicates his life to seismology—only to find himself at the center of a dangerous game when his ability to predict quakes attracts the attention of the criminal gang known as the Looters. Win Mortimer’s crisp art and Ira Schnapp’s sharp lettering bring this early 1946 tale to life, while Dick Sprang’s dynamic cover captures the tension of a world trembling beneath a hidden threat.

Seeing both of his parents killed in an earthquake on a small Pacific island, Dorry Leaf becomes an expert on these phenomena, and is offered a post at Pacific Coast University to oversee a seismographic observatory that he is determined to make quake-proof! However, crooks become interested when they discover that the Professor can predict in advance where quakes will occur, and the Looters, as they are known, hope to cash in on that knowledge.
