“The Little Men's Hall of Fame!”

Batman finds himself in a ferocious face-off with a massive eagle on this June 1977 cover, while the Penguin — perched smugly in the background — taunts the Dark Knight with the taunt "I always said you were for the birds, Batman!" The bold banner at the bottom promises "Peril from the Penguin's Pets of Prey!", setting up a wonderfully pulpy clash between Gotham's grim avenger and a villain whose bird-themed schemes feel perfectly at home in the Bronze Age. Mike Grell's dynamic cover pencils and inks give the giant raptor a real sense of menace as its talons reach for the Caped Crusader.
