Part of the 2020 "Joker War: Collateral Damage" crossover, this issue of Batgirl delivers one of the most unsettling cover images of the year — the Joker, pinstripe suit and bouquet of roses in hand, turns to flash his ghastly grin at a door marked "B. Gordon." The flowers held openly contrast with whatever he's concealing behind his back, making the whole scene feel like a threat dressed up as a courtesy. Cover pencils by Giuseppe Camuncoli and inks by Cam Smith give the image a slick, foreboding elegance that sets a tense stage for Cecil Castellucci and Robbi Rodriguez's story inside.
