Batgirl #32
Part of DC's New 52 initiative, this 2014 issue kicks off "Deadline" with a cover by Alex Garner that places Batgirl at the center of an unsettling surveillance grid — multiple screens bearing her name and image surround her as she crouches in a defensive stance, cape billowing and hand crackling with energy. The composition suggests someone has been watching her very closely, and she's not happy about it. With Gail Simone writing and the art team of Fernando Pasarin and Jonathan Glapion bringing the interior pages to life, this is a compelling entry in one of DC's most engaging ongoing series.
