Batgirl #3

Part three of the six-issue "Redemption Road" miniseries finds Batgirl completely surrounded — the cover by Andy Clarke shows her in black cape and cowl, outnumbered and under siege as four blue-and-orange armored sword-wielding fighters close in from every angle amid a rocky canyon setting. The tagline "Family Secrets!" hints at something deeper running beneath the action, and writer Adam Beechen with artist Jim Calafiore are clearly building toward a meaningful confrontation. It's a tense, well-composed November 2008 installment that makes it easy to see why this miniseries kept readers coming back.
