“Unsinkable”

What a send-off this cover delivers — Dustin Nguyen packs the image with an enormous cast surrounding Batgirl as she soars dramatically above Gotham, cape billowing against a moonlit skyline. Supergirl surges forward in the foreground alongside Robin, a red-haired Oracle in her wheelchair, Batman, and a wild crowd of allies, civilians, and villains — including a skeleton, a monstrous creature, and someone cruising in a purple Mini Cooper — making the whole composition feel like a joyful, chaotic reunion. Writer Bryan Q. Miller and artist Pere Pérez close out this 2011 run with an issue titled "Unsinkable," and the sheer energy of Nguyen's cover art says everything about how much life this series packed into every page.
