Dynamite's 2021 relaunch of Barbarella opens with a striking cover by Lucio Parrillo that immediately establishes the tone: the galaxy's most self-possessed adventurer, clad in a sleek red jumpsuit and raising a futuristic pistol, lounges with cool confidence amid a tangle of alien creatures — a looming purple demon with glowing red eyes and a writhing, tentacled beast that clearly came out worse from the encounter. Writer Sarah Hoyt and artist Madibek Musabekov kick off "Agent of Chaos Part One: Woman Untamed," a title that promises exactly the kind of fearless, boundary-pushing science-fantasy storytelling the character was born for.
