Barbalien: Red Planet #3
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeDrawn from the world of Black Hammer, this third chapter of "Red Planet" presents a striking close-up of Barbalien himself — a powerfully built, red-skinned alien warrior with a ridged, textured face and spined armor, jaw set in grim determination as he hefts a massive battle axe. Gabriel Hernández Walta's cover linework is raw and expressive, giving the character a weight and physicality that feels genuinely earned. With Jeff Lemire and Tate Brombal's story building momentum and Jordie Bellaire's warm, earthy palette setting the mood, this is Dark Horse superhero storytelling with real depth and personality.

When Boa Boaz attacks, Luke gets Miguel to safety so that he can transform back into Barbalien and fight back. Boaz is temporarily defeated and arrested while in human form. Miguel takes the injured Luke to Dr. Rosalyn Day at her makeshift hospital for AIDS patients. The doctor is a descendant of superheroes herself and recognizes Barbalien, giving him some welcome advice. Later, at the police station, Boaz kills Officer O'Toole and assumes his identity.
