Bamse #1/1973
In this classic 1973 tale from *Bamse #1*, the world’s strongest—and kindest—bear faces a clever trap when Vargen swaps his honey jars with fakes and tries to lure a gorilla into attacking him. When the gorilla arrives, Bamse surprises him with a banana instead of fear, and the two quickly become unlikely friends. Just as Vargen plots to drop a boulder on Bamse, the ever-resourceful cat Jansson steps in to save the day.
In "Skalmans glassautomat," Skalman's clever invention turns candy sticks and paper straws into ice cream—until the mischievous Vargen steals it and gets stuck fast with his nose. When Bamse retrieves the machine, he finds Skalman no longer wants it, leaving the Vargen to smash his way out.
In a playful tale from the 1973 issue of Bamse, the small and timid rabbit Lille Skutt faces teasing for being afraid—until a clumsy stumble down a steep hill accidentally knocks out a robber. The unexpected turn of events spreads fast, and soon everyone is amazed by Lille Skutt’s accidental bravery.
In "Skalmans tidsmaskin," Skalman, Bamse, and Lille Skutt journey 75 million years back in time using a time machine Skalman built, where they encounter a variety of dinosaurs. When a Pteranodon snatches Skalman mid-flight and a Tyrannosaurus Rex devours all of Bamse’s honey, the trio finds themselves in a prehistoric predicament.
