B.P.R.D.: War on Frogs #4
The fourth and final chapter of War on Frogs closes out this B.P.R.D. miniseries with a cover by Mike Mignola that perfectly encapsulates the Bureau's grim odds — a lone, masked agent bearing the B.P.R.D. emblem stands surrounded by a snarling horde of frog creatures, while skeletal forms and writhing tentacles loom in the murk behind them. It's a quietly tense image, the lone figure's stillness against that press of monstrous bodies conveying real dread without overstating it. John Arcudi and Peter Snejbjerg bring their collaboration to a close here, making this a satisfying capstone to one of 2009's more atmospherically unsettling chapters in the Hellboy universe.
