Avengers Assemble #1
A brand-new chapter for Earth's Mightiest Heroes kicks off with this 2024 first issue from writer Steve Orlando and artist Cory Smith. Leinil Francis Yu's cover art throws us straight into the action, with Captain America leading the charge — shield raised — alongside She-Hulk, Hawkeye wielding his energy bow, a young martial artist, and a central hero in a striking white-and-black costume, while a wild-maned brawler and a composed figure with a serving tray loom on the steps behind them. It's a confident, energetic lineup that makes a strong case for why "Assemble" is exactly the right word to kick off this series.

Captain America leads the newly-formed Avengers Emergency Response Squad (AvengE.R.S), based in the original Avengers Mansion. On their first mission, four heroes face off against Sin, the Red Skull's daughter, who has stolen the death mask of Erida and uses it to make them battle each other. The Serpent Society takes advantage of the fight to steal another nearby magical artifact that will summon their new benefactor: Mephisto (the original serpent in the Garden of Eden).
