Astérix #23
This 1976 album collects the 23rd adventure in the classic series, originally serialized in Pilote. In Obélix et Compagnie, the Gaulish village's indomitable strength becomes a commodity when a Roman entrepreneur introduces a new economic scheme: he pays Obélix for menhirs, sparking inflation and social upheaval among the villagers. René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo satirize consumerism and the rise of marketing, as Asterix and his friends must find a way to restore their simple way of life before the Romans exploit the chaos.
In "Obélix et compagnie," the familiar cast of Gaulish villagers—Astérix, Obélix, Abraracourcix, Agecanonix, and others—find themselves in a lighthearted adventure, as drawn by Albert Uderzo and brought to life with the distinctive style and humor of the series. Published by Dargaud in 1976, this installment features the usual blend of satire and charm, with contributions from the Uderzo brothers and René Goscinny.
