Arrowsmith Behind Enemy Lines #5

Busiek and Pacheco's alternate-history fantasy series reaches its penultimate chapter with "Trollhome," and the cover sets an ominous tone — a gaunt, robed figure raises both arms wide before a towering array of glowing crystalline columns, his expression fierce with dark intent. The composition, rendered in pencils by Carlos Pacheco and inks by José Rafael Fonteriz, uses those vivid, prismatic light sources to frame the figure with an almost ritualistic grandeur. If this is what awaits in Trollhome, the final issue of Behind Enemy Lines has a lot to live up to.
