Archie's Joke Book Magazine #131
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis December 1968 issue of Archie's Joke Book Magazine delivers its humor right on the cover, where a two-panel classroom gag shows Betty standing at a podium in Current Events Class — with Archie, Veronica, and Jughead looking on — as their teacher enthusiastically announces she'll address "the most vital question of the day," only for Betty to reveal her earth-shattering topic: "Should a girl have her ears pierced?" Dan DeCarlo's clean, expressive linework captures the teacher's delighted buildup and her subsequent comic dismay perfectly. At 12 cents, this was lighthearted Riverdale fun at its most charmingly relatable.
