Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica #339
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis December 1985 issue sets up a playful contrast right on the cover: on one side, Betty is mid-air on the basketball court, number 5 jersey and all, making a smooth layup while the crowd looks on — and on the other, Veronica is working the sidelines in her Riverdale cheerleader uniform, drawing admiring glances from Archie, Moose, and the gang. The tagline "Betty has the best moves on the court… guess who has the best moves off the court?" says it all with a wink. Dan DeCarlo's breezy linework gives the whole scene that warm, energetic Riverdale charm that made this series a staple of Archie Comics throughout the era.
