“Eat Feat”

In "Eat Feat," Archie finds himself behind the wheel of Mr. Weatherbee’s Yakasaki Pigeon—just repaired after a dent from a past mishap—only to be pulled into a high-speed chase when the car is commandeered by police hot on the trail of bank robbers disguised as a Chubby Charlie's Chicken Shack float during a downtown Riverdale parade. Written and illustrated by Bob Bolling, with coloring by Barry Grossman and lettering by Bill Yoshida, this 2002 Double Digest tale blends classic Archie chaos with a sudden burst of unexpected action, all wrapped in a cover by Stan Goldberg and Bob Smith.

After a mysterious narrator hints that some things were never meant to change, we find Archie driving Mr. Weatherbee's Yakasaki Pigeon back from the auto shop, where the repairman has fixed the dent it sustained in Archie and Me #141. But the car is commandeered by the police, chasing two crooks who just robbed a bank and took off in a getaway car disguised as a "Chubby Charlie's Chicken Shack" float in a parade through downtown Riverdale.
