This 1964 installment of the Archie Giant Series delivers a Betty and Veronica Spectacular packed with the duo's signature rivalry. The cover, penciled by Dan DeCarlo and inked by Rudy Lapick, captures the tension perfectly: Veronica rushes down the stairs in red, desperately warning Betty — "Don't use that phone, Betty! It's my HOT LINE to Archie!!" — while Betty, already holding the red receiver with a look of surprise, stands her ground beside a table holding both a red and a blue rotary telephone. It's a wonderfully relatable moment of competitive charm, and at a quarter a copy, this oversized issue was a real treat for fans of Riverdale's favorite girls.
