Archie Giant Series Magazine #233

The cover of this 1975 giant-sized Archie publication says it all about Jughead's priorities: a teacher reacts with surprised approval upon discovering that Jug has volunteered to paint the school mural — only to find it's an elaborate, lovingly rendered tribute to sausages, ham, watermelon, and a hamburger. Archie and a blonde classmate look on from the hallway, clearly amused by the punchline that Jughead's idea of "branching out" still leads straight to the dinner table. It's a perfectly charming snapshot of Riverdale's most food-obsessed resident, packed into one of Archie's oversized Giant Series editions.
