Archie and Me #116
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this 1980 Archie Comics Group issue tells its own perfectly self-contained joke: Archie excitedly points out a "Welcome Archie" doormat outside Riverdale High School, boasting to a blonde companion that Mr. Weatherbee had it made just for him — then the bottom panel reveals the mat is actually planted right outside the Detention Room. It's a two-panel setup-and-punchline that captures everything warm and gently absurd about the Archie universe, with Archie's sheepish reaction selling the gag beautifully. A fun, breezy pick-up from 1980 that also promises the story "Great Skate" inside.
