“A Winter’s Tail”

Poor Archie — bundled up in a winter coat and leaning blearily against a school bus stop sign, icicles hanging from the post, while Veronica and Betty walk past in the snowy cold, one of them asking the perfectly reasonable question: "How do we tell Archie it's Saturday?" It's a wonderfully relatable setup, and Stan Goldberg's pencils (inked by Bob Smith) give the whole snowy scene a bright, cheerful charm that makes this March 2001 issue of Archie an instant mood-lifter. With Mike Pellowski's story "A Winter's Tail" waiting inside, fans of Riverdale's favorite redhead are in for a fun, frosty read.
