Archie #399
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe answer to Archie's nervous question — "Hi, Veronica! Is your father still mad at me?" — seems written all over this 1992 cover: a big "No Archie" sign (complete with his crossed-out face) looms prominently in the Lodge living room, while a stern, bathrobe-clad Hiram Lodge reads his newspaper in the foreground, clearly unmoved. Veronica stands at the doorway looking uncertain, and the familiar Riverdale gang peeks in from the corner inset, rounding out a wonderfully comedic snapshot of Archie's ongoing struggle for Mr. Lodge's approval. With cover art by Stan Goldberg and inks by Rudy Lapick, this cheerful issue is a great example of the warm, humor-driven storytelling that made the Archie Series a staple of early-'90s comics.
