“The Cure”

Archie #318 captures a very 1982 moment, with Archie promising a baffled Mr. Weatherbee that he can "solve the cube" — a Rubik's Cube visible right there in his hands. Dan DeCarlo's cover art tells the whole story in three punchy panels: Archie pleading outside the principal's office, Betty and Veronica reacting with wide-eyed confusion, and finally Archie confidently stepping up to the craze that had the whole world twisted in knots that year. It's a charming, time-capsule snapshot of Riverdale's favorite redhead turning a pop-culture obsession into his latest scheme.
