Arak and friends are sailing on a sea of sand and making good time. But, then the sand becomes a tumble of churning boulders, and their wooden ship is smashed. Luckily, the previous owners of the ship brought along a solid stone lifeboat, so the journey continues. Finally, the "sea" ends at a waterfall (real water; not stones, thankfully). The travelers now find themselves in the catacombs under White Cathay. When they storm out of a hidden door into Angelica's very stronghold, she's able to capture them all in a net. She plans to sacrifice them in front of her subjects to solidify her rule.
