Peter Bagge's six-part Dark Horse series continues with this second installment, and the cover sets the tone perfectly: four wide-eyed, thoroughly panicked figures — a bald man with a ranger hat, a brown-haired woman clutching a pacifier-equipped baby, and a gap-toothed kid in a baseball cap — stare at something off-panel with expressions of pure, comedic dread against a woodsy green backdrop. Bagge's rubbery, exaggerated cartooning style gives the scene an anxious energy that's equal parts funny and unsettling, capturing the series' premise of ordinary people trying (and visibly failing) to hold it together when civilization goes sideways.
