In order to provide money for her father's ranch, Annie reluctantly leaves Buena Vista to join Frank Butler in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in a big city. Just as she is about to demonstrate her sharpshooting prowess in her first performance, she gets homesick for Buena Vista, her dad and Idaho. She deliberately misses all her shots and gets booed out of the arena. When Frank professes his love for her, she tells him she will have to return to Buena Vista and then she'll decide between Frank and Idaho.
