Amethyst #5

Part of DC's Wonder Comics line, this fifth issue of Amy Reeder's 2020 Amethyst series finds its lavender-haired heroine reclining among towering teal crystals, vivid orange blooms, and softly glowing lanterns in what feels like an otherworldly garden of quiet wonder. Reeder's cover art — colored beautifully by Marissa Louise — gives the scene a dreamy, almost meditative quality, with Amethyst's flower-and-gem crown and goggle-adorned brow hinting at both magic and adventure just beneath the surface. "In Deep" sounds about right for a setting this lush and mysterious.
