Amazing Fantasy #3

Issue three of Marvel's 2004 Amazing Fantasy revival puts its red-haired, spider-emblemed heroine front and center — literally airborne above a churning mass of armed street fighters, ninjas, and gang members, mid-kick and clearly outnumbered but undaunted. The cover art by Mark Brooks packs an impressive amount of kinetic energy into a single image, with bats, blades, and muzzle flashes filling every corner as the crowd surges beneath her. With Fiona Avery writing and Roger Cruz on interior art, "Game Set" promises a series that's earnest about its action and not shy about throwing its young hero into the deep end.
