Johnny Thunder rides into a town to learn that "Johnny Thunder is tanglin' with the Tarantula" across town! JT rides to a hay wagon fight - and is mobbed by thugs hidden under the hay. The Tarantula (an ordinary gunman, not costumed) wants to kill JT in a "fair fight" to encourage other gangs to capture towns. But Johnny jumps off the building, slashing his bonds, and fights "like a whirlwind" to stop the gang, even rescuing the Tarantula from a burning hay fire!
