All-Star Section Eight #3

The ragtag crew of Section Eight assembles outside Noonan's Sleazy Bar in this third chapter of Garth Ennis and John McCrea's six-issue miniseries — and Amanda Conner's cover captures the full, gloriously absurd ensemble: a towering green-skinned powerhouse standing arms-crossed at center, the hapless Six Pac looking queasy in his yellow costume, a helmeted gadgeteer off to the left, a stout armored figure in shades, and what appears to be a very unhappy tentacled creature in the foreground. Colorist John Kalisz bathes the scene in the warm neon glow of the bar's signage, giving the whole chaotic gathering a lived-in, late-night charm that perfectly suits this DC series' irreverent spirit.
