Alice Ever After #4

The penultimate chapter of BOOM! Studios' dark reimagining arrives with a cover by Dan Panosian that is hard to look away from — a pale, blonde Alice stares out from behind a locked iron grate, her expression caught somewhere between defiance and dread, while golden Wonderland figures (the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, and others) line the ornate border like a jury of phantoms. The deep crimson and black backdrop gives the whole image a gothic, almost suffocating weight that perfectly captures how far this series has strayed from childhood whimsy. If you've been following Alice's unsettling journey, issue four promises the tension is only tightening.
