Age of Ultron vs. Marvel Zombies #3

Part of Marvel's 2015 Secret Wars Battleworld event, this third issue puts the mechanical menace of Ultron's forces directly in the path of a rotting horde of Marvel Zombies, and the cover makes the collision look every bit as ferocious as it sounds. Steve Pugh's artwork captures a chaotic melee set against a fiery, smoke-filled forest backdrop — robotic Ultron sentinels clashing mid-air against decayed, undead versions of recognizable costumed figures, limbs flailing and energy crackling across the scene. It's a genuinely striking visual showdown between two of Marvel's most relentless threats, rendered with grim energy by Pugh and colored with smoky, hellish atmosphere by Jim Charalampidis.
