The "Sacrifice" crossover reaches its third chapter here, with Superman locked in fierce, mid-air combat against the armored villain Ruin — fists clenched and capes flying against a fiery orange backdrop that practically radiates intensity. Karl Kerschl's cover work captures the raw physicality of the clash beautifully, with a fallen figure visible below them hinting at the stakes already in play. Greg Rucka's 2005 run on Adventures of Superman was delivering some of the title's most gripping confrontations, and this issue looks every bit the part.
