The third chapter of this six-part KaBOOM! miniseries offers a wonderfully cozy-yet-chaotic cover: a wide-eyed Banana Guard peers nervously from inside a warm room while, just beyond the frosted windowpanes, the Ice King crackles with icy power above a snowy landscape as a gingerbread person, a heart-shaped creature, and a cupcake character scramble below him. Cover art by Aimee Fleck gives the whole scene a clean, charming look that perfectly captures the fun-meets-peril spirit of the Land of Ooo. With writing by Dylan Haggerty and Kent Osborne and interior art by Mad Rupert and colorist Whitney Cogar, this 2014 series continues to be a delightful deep-dive into the world of Candy Kingdom law enforcement.
