Adventure Comics #427

This May 1973 issue of DC's long-running anthology series delivers a cover by Luis Dominguez that's hard to look away from — a rugged adventurer in a safari cap clutches a camera while enormous, fang-baring lizard creatures close in from every direction, their clawed arms and scaled bodies filling the frame with menace. The story promised inside, "The Voodoo Lizards!," sounds like exactly the kind of pulp-flavored thriller this era of Adventure Comics did so well, with interior work handled entirely by Jim Aparo. A terrific slice of early-'70s DC horror-adventure energy.
