“Destro: Down and Out! Part Three”

In "Destro: Down and Out! Part Three," Ripcord—posing as Zartan—finds himself captured and brought to the new Cobra base on Cobra Island, where Professor Appel uncovers the ruse after spotting Candy’s photo on him. As Action Force launches a search and rescue, tensions rise when Spirit senses something’s off about the captured man, and Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow close in, believing they’ve found the killer of the Hard Master—only to be saved by an experimental minifighter launched by Appel. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Rod Whigham, with inks by Andy Mushynsky, colors by George Roussos, and letters by Joe Rosen, this 1988 Marvel UK issue features a cover by Bryan Hitch.

Ripcord (as Zartan) is taken into the new Cobra base on Cobra Island, and Professor Appel discovers the deception when he sees Candy's picture on his person and Ripcord explains to him about where Candy is (or isn't right now). Action Force, launch a recon/search and rescue for Ripcord, then rescue him (actually Zartan), but Spirit's suspicious of him when he notices the bullet wound's all wrong. Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow land on the island about to get whom they think is Zartan (the Hard Master's killer), when Appel launches the experimental new minifighter, saving Ripcord from harm.
