In "Up, Up, and Away! Finale The Adventures of Superman," Superman and Lex Luthor crash into the bay and make their way to a remote island, where Superman's powers vanish—leaving him vulnerable as Luthor attempts to fight back. When he awakens, the Coast Guard has taken Luthor, and with his powers returning, Superman returns to Lois, only to learn Luthor has escaped. With the help of Jimmy Olsen and the sunstone crystal he discovered, Superman activates a new Fortress of Solitude at the polar ice cap. Written by Geoff Johns and Kurt Busiek, with art by Pete Woods and colors by Brad Anderson, this pivotal issue sees Superman redefining his purpose in a world still healing from upheaval.
