“The TV Show That Menaced Metropolis!”

In "The TV Show That Menaced Metropolis!", a rare condition leaves teen Woodrow Nescott isolated from the world, his only connection being the television screen. When he ventures out to protect an actor he believes is real, his fragile world collides with a dangerous deception—only for Superman to step in and uncover the truth. Written by Cary Bates and brought to life with Curt Swan’s expressive art and Murphy Anderson’s crisp inks, this 1973 classic features a poignant story grounded in isolation and identity, with Nick Cardy’s dynamic cover capturing the tension.

Woodrow Nescott, a teen who has lived his life quarantined due to a rare environmental disease which can create monstrous, deadly white blood cell blobs, breaks out of his home to help an actor who he believes is actually the character he portrays on TV. When the actor tries to manipulate Woodrow into killing his TV rival, Superman intervenes. The actor is absorbed by the blob and Superman finds a cure for Woodrow's condition.
