This February 1973 issue of Action Comics promises a wild collision of powerhouses, as the cover by Nick Cardy shows a burly sailor-type figure — Captain Strong — casually hoisting a phone booth with a stunned Superman trapped inside, ripping it clean from the ground. Strong's taunting word balloon ("Who you kiddin'… changin' to Superman in a phone booth!") makes clear that the Man of Steel has met someone who isn't remotely impressed by his reputation. Rounding out the package is a Green Arrow backup feature, making this a satisfying double dose of DC heroics for just twenty cents.
