“Crime Paradise!”

In "Crime Paradise!", a young man is duped into believing he owns a bridge—only to find himself collecting tolls from bewildered passersby. When Henry steps in to reveal the deed is a forgery, he uncovers a wider web of deception that stretches beyond one victim. Written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stan Kaye, with a cover by Wayne Boring and Stan Kaye, this 1946 tale blends early superhero-era intrigue with a clever scam that’s far from over.
