The group (Liana, Brent, Rieken, Bast, Chris, Reynaldo, Galahad, Corrine, Dunstan, Bast, D'Mer, Minetti and Serezha) are headed to the Siovansin when they are attacked by the Guard. They fight off the advance party and Rieken unleashes his power to destroy the Guard's ship. The group hurriedly departs. Meanwhile aboard the Siovansin, Sere lures Kovar away from Rieken's chambers and slaughters his guard. Kovar arrives back just in time to prevent her entry into the chambers.
