Carlos Ezquerra's cover for 2000 AD Prog 673 pulls no punches: a wild-eyed, dark-robed figure raises a knife overhead while a second anguished face twists in terror below, all rendered against a lurid green backdrop that practically pulses with dread. The cover blurb "Bride of Death!" sets an unambiguous tone, and Ezquerra's visceral linework — he pencilled, inked, and coloured the interior art as well — gives the whole thing a raw, immediate energy. If April 1990 2000 AD was promising this kind of intensity, Part 2 of "Dear Annie" has every reason to keep you reading.
