This June 1986 prog from IPC's weekly British anthology delivers one of the more darkly playful covers of the year — a female Judge in full uniform levels her weapon and shouts "I said 'HANDS UP'!" while a mob of disembodied arms and grasping hands surges in from every direction, the headline "Many Hands Make Fright Work" making the grim joke land perfectly. Brett Ewins's linework gives the scene a gritty, kinetic energy, balancing genuine menace with a wry wit that's pure 2000 AD. Inside, Grant Morrison and Barry Kitson continue "Bad City Blue" at Part 8, promising another chapter of their gritty Judge Dredd-universe storytelling.
