2000 AD #442
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFrom November 1985, 2000 AD Prog 442 spotlights the "Sam Slade: Robohunted!" strip with a cover by Ian Gibson that puts the lone, blue-jacketed Sam Slade flat on the ground, desperately crawling as a massive army of menacing robots closes in around him — their cheerful "Yup!" speech bubbles making the threat all the more unsettling. Laser blasts erupt at his heels in a volley of "Blat!" sound effects, and the sheer wall-to-wall mass of mechanoid pursuers tells you everything you need to know about the odds he's facing. It's a wonderfully sardonic slice of Gibson's detailed, kinetic artwork, perfectly capturing the darkly comic tone that made this series a fan favourite.
