2000 AD #385

From September 1984, 2000 AD Prog 385 sets up a tense standoff with its cover by Carlos Ezquerra: two figures loom in the foreground — one armored, one in a wide-brimmed hat and duster — facing down a helmeted, heavily-armed figure silhouetted against a blazing light, with the question "Who's First?" hanging in the air. The "Alpha vs Stix" banner makes the confrontation explicit, promising exactly the kind of hard-edged sci-fi action that made this weekly anthology essential reading in 1984. Inside, Alan Grant and Carlos Ezquerra continue "Outlaw!" in Part 23, with lettering by Jack Potter rounding out a creative team clearly at the top of their game.
