A split "before and after" cover by Henry Flint says it all: on the left, the menacing robot Blackblood looms with glowing red eyes and a skull emblem, draped in tattered white fabric; on the right, his thoroughly "defragged" form has been reduced to a wild tangle of machinery topped by a bizarre mechanical tree. This 2006 prog promises Gordon Rennie and Ian Gibson's "Return to Planet Gary" as part of the weekly lineup, and the gleefully irreverent cover gag — "Full Metal Makeover!" — sets a tone that's equal parts dark sci-fi and sharp humor. A fine Wednesday pick-up from Rebellion's ever-inventive weekly anthology.
